Dongfeng Mengshi 917 luxury off-roader hits market, starting at 637,700 yuan

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On the first day of the Chengdu Motor Show 2023, the highly anticipated Dongfeng Mengshi 917 luxury off-roader officially hit the market.

This new offering includes two standard models and two special-edition ("Foundation") models. The Extended Range Foundation Edition is priced at 678,000 yuan, while the All-Electric Foundation Edition comes at 739,000 yuan. The Extended Range Standard Edition is priced at 637,700 yuan, and the All-Electric Standard Edition at 697,700 yuan.

Mengshi is positioned as Dongfeng Motor's another luxury new energy vehicle brand following VOYAH. It focuses on producing high-end electrified off-road vehicles for the general public.

The Mengshi 917 boasts a rugged and angular design with sharp lines that create a distinctively robust off-road aura, harmonizing with its sturdy, square-shaped body. The vehicle measures 4,987mm in length, 2,080mm in width, and 1,935mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950mm.

In terms of off-road assistance, the Mengshi 917 will be equipped with the all-terrain solution, MATS, an intelligent off-road system that automatically adapts drive modes and power strategies based on the road conditions.

Under the hood, the Extended Range variant features a 1.5-liter four-cylinder range extender engine with a peak power output of 145kW. Its electric powertrain adopts a three-motor layout, each with a maximum output of 200kW and a peak torque of 350N·m. Its CLTC range reaches an impressive 1,026km.

On the other hand, the All-Electric variant employs a dual-motor setup both at the front and rear, delivering 200kW of power and 350N·m of torque for each motor. The all-electric version boasts a CLTC range of 505km.
