Honda Motor scores two-digit YoY, MoM growth in Oct. China retail sales

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Honda Motor announced a retail sales volume of 130,424 vehicles in China for the month of October 2023, representing a remarkable year-on-year jump of 22.9% and a notable month-on-month growth of 18.9%.

However, for the first ten months of this year, the Japanese automaker saw its cumulative retail sales in the world's largest auto market fall 16.8% over a year ago to 971,729 units.

As for the October sales of main products, the CR-V outperformed other models with a retail sales volume exceeding 20,000 units, both the ACCORD and CIVIC logged a sales volume of over 15,000 units, while the respective sales of the BREEZE and the INTEGRA topped 10,000 units.

Honda Motor is actively advancing its transition to new energy vehicles (NEVs). On September 21, Dongfeng Honda officially unveiled its fire new energy vehicle (NEV) brand, LINGXI, in Wuhan, along with the debut of LINGXI's first concept model, the LINGXI L.

The inaugural mass-produced vehicle under this brand is set to hit the market in 2024. It will be equipped with the LINGXI intelligent electric platform, the LINGXI DRIVE smart driving system, and the LINGXI SPACE intelligent cockpit, along with high-voltage fast charging technology.

By 2025, it is expected that over 50% of Dongfeng Honda's product lineup will be electrified models, with plans to introduce more than 10 pure electric models by 2030.
