Changan Automobile posts 7.21% YoY rise in Oct. sales
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Chinese automaker Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. ("Changan Automobile") achieved a 7.21% year-on-year rise in October sales, which came in at 241,028 units.
In the past month, Changan's self-owned brands saw their new energy vehicle sales soar 57.1% from the previous year and rise 12.6% from the previous month to 57,399 units. In the meantime, the company’s wholly-owned brands also excelled in overseas markets in October with sales reaching 23,032 units, which represented a 38.4% year-on-year surge and a 19.3% month-on-month increase.

In the first ten months of this year, Changan Automobile’s cumulative sales amounted to 2,110,636 vehicles, ticking up 10.76% from a year ago. Of the vehicles sold in the period, 1,747,653 units were under the automaker’s wholly-owned brands, which rose 15.93% from the previous year.
Brand-wise, the carmaker’s new energy vehicle brand Deepal delivered 15,513 vehicles in October, which brought Deepal's cumulative deliveries for the year to 102,408 units. On November 7, Deepal put the intelligent driving versions of its existing S7 and SL03 models, the S7i and SL03i, onto the market.
Meanwhile, AVATR, Changan’s jointly developed premium car brand with Huawei and CATL,saw its monthly deliveries stand at 3,888 units in October. Currently, AVATR only has the AVATR 11 model on the market, and it is set to put its second model, the AVATR 12, onto the market on November 10.
As to Changan Automobile’s joint venture brands, Changan Ford sold 19,173 vehicles in the past month, down 12.32% year-on-year. Whereas, Changan Mazda posted a 63.23% year-over-year soar in sales, which came in at 12,864 units.
