Chery launches new energy vehicle range ‘Fengyun’ with A9, T11 concept cars unveiled

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On November 9, Chery launched its brand-new new energy vehicle series, "Fengyun," and unveiled two concept cars, the Fengyun A9 and T11.

The name "Fengyun" holds special significance for Chery. In 1999, Chery's first sedan, "Fengyun," rolled off the production line and marked the beginning of Chery's journey in independent car manufacturing. 

Powered by the Kunpeng hybrid C-DM, Fengyun combines performance and energy efficiency, delivering ample power across all speed ranges. With a top speed of 240 km/h on highways, Fengyun excels in high-speed driving. Notably, it achieves remarkable energy efficiency, with a WLTC-rated consumption of only 4.2 liters per 100 kilometers and a battery-powered range of over 200 kilometers on a single charge.

Fengyun prioritizes safety with a comprehensive approach that covers vehicle safety, battery safety, and information security. It features a lightweight space capsule made from high-strength steel and aluminum, along with extensive use of heat-formed steel and ultra-high-strength steel, achieving superior overall vehicle safety. The Shouhuzhe (translating to “Guardian”) battery safety system offers triple safety standards, resisting heat, impact, and water, ensuring the battery's safety throughout its lifecycle. Additionally, Fengyun is equipped with a comprehensive security key system based on the EU R155 CSMS/R156 SUMS certification, providing full protection for user information.

In terms of intelligence, Fengyun boasts L3+ autonomous driving capabilities, offering users City/Highway NOP (Navigation on Pilot) functions in complex scenarios like city intersections, roundabouts, and narrow lanes. It also introduces memory parking, which supports cross-level and 1-kilometer path memory, reducing the complexity of parking. Furthermore, the full-stack self-developed LION OS from Chery, combined with AI large models, provides a seamless intelligent cabin driving experience for users.

During the launch event, Chery presented the global debut of two concept cars, the Fengyun A9 and T11. In the future, Chery's Fengyun series plans to release 11 new models within two years.

Chery has also developed a new service system dedicated to Fengyun users, establishing 400 sales outlets and 1,500 service points nationwide.
