This move saw Huawei extending equity invitations to partner in its Huawei Smart Selection car projects, including SERES, Chery, JAC Group, BAIC Group, and a hopeful invitation to FAW Group.

Yu expressed a warm welcome to robust Chinese automakers like FAW Group, inviting them to join hands in crafting the most cutting-edge and ultimate intelligent automotive solutions.

On November 25, Huawei and Changan Automobile signed a Memorandum of Investment Cooperation. This memorandum outlines the establishment of a new company focusing on the R&D, production, sales, and service of intelligent driving systems and incremental components for intelligent connected vehicles. Huawei plans to integrate core technologies and resources from its automotive solutions BU into this new entity. Changan and its affiliates intend to invest in this venture, jointly supporting its future growth.

Subsequently, SERES, deeply engaged with Huawei in their co-developed AITO vehicle range, released a situation report, confirming the company’s receipt of an invitation to co-invest in the target company. Similarly, JAC Group expressed keen interest in collaborating with Huawei to invest in and support the development of the proposed independent automotive intelligent system and components company.

Yu Chengdong reiterated in a media interview on November 27 that Huawei will lead the technological direction of the new joint venture. The future sees more partners from Huawei's Smart Selection business gradually joining this collaborative enterprise.

In fact, Huawei and FAW Group have already forged their collaboration. On October 24, FAW Jiefang and Huawei signed a comprehensive agreement focusing on AI, intelligent driving, and smart cabins at Huawei's Shenzhen Bantian base, further solidifying their partnership.
