Yueda Kia’s auto sales in Nov. zoom up 88.9% YoY

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In November 2023, Yueda Kia, the joint venture between Kia Corporation and China's Yueda Automobile Group, sold 18,224 vehicles, representing a remarkable year-on-year surge of 88.9%, according to a post on the WeChat account of Yueda Automobile Group.

Of the vehicles sold by Yueda Kia last month, 7,004 vehicles were sold in China's domestic market, reflecting a 22.5% year-on-year jump, while the other 11,220 units were exported to overseas markets, displaying a three-digit spike of 185.6% year-over-year.

From January to November this year, Yueda Kia achieved cumulative sales of 148,168 units, marking a notable 23.2% year-on-year growth. Export figures played a significant role, contributing to the cumulative sales with a year-on-year surge of 92.3%, totaling 75,837 units.

Throughout the year, Yueda Kia has expedited its electric transformation and export strategies, yielding significant results. In March, at the "EV Day" event, Kia unveiled its electrification strategy for China. In August, the EV6 all-electric vehicle (imported) officially hit the Chinese market at the Chengdu Motor Show 2023. The EV5, representing Kia's core model in the global electric transformation, went on sale at the Auto Guangzhou in November, marking a solid step in Kia's electrification journey in China. On November 28, the EV5 saw its first mass-produced units roll off line and began delivery to customers.

In addition, Yueda Kia said it has actively expanded its export business for both complete vehicles and CKD (completely knocked down) components. Its export strategy covers over 70 countries and regions, with a lineup featuring models like the Pegas, the KX1, and the Seltos. The export base in Yancheng is gradually demonstrating its impact, with plans to introduce additional models overseas such as the K5 and the EV5 in the future.
