FAW-Volkswagen sees 4.8% YoY rise in 2023 annual auto sales

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 15, FAW-Volkswagen held its 2024 annual news conference, reflecting on the dedicated progress made in 2023 and outlining innovative plans in 2024. In 2023, FAW-Volkswagen delivered over 1.91 million vehicles to end users, marking a 4.8% year-on-year rise and achieving an 8.6% market share in China.

The three major brands of the company, namely, Volkswagen, Audi, and Jetta, all experienced year-on-year sales growth in the past year. 

Specifically, the Volkswagen brand achieved terminal sales of 1,050,017 units in 2023, sustaining positive year-on-year growth for two consecutive years. The Audi brand recorded terminal sales of 698,188 units (including imports). Meanwhile, the Jetta brand realized an annual terminal sales volume of 162,000 units, reaching a historic market share high.

In response to market pressures, FAW-Volkswagen accelerated its transformation in the new energy vehicle sector. Addressing user concerns, the company autonomously upgraded its intelligent in-car system, debuting it in the ID.7 VIZZION model, offering features like lane-level navigation, and full-chain interaction for charging station searches.

Prioritizing battery safety, FAW-Volkswagen conducted 436 rigorous safety tests, exceeding national standards for cell, module, and battery pack testing. Vehicle safety adheres to Volkswagen Group's highest collision standards, providing users with comprehensive passive and active safety features for intelligent protection. 

To meet diverse user needs, FAW-Volkswagen is developing new electric models and introducing in-house hybrid electric technology across its existing oil-fueled models. Starting from 2024, key models, including the all-new Magotan, will undergo comprehensive upgrades, further showcasing the company's commitment to innovation in the automotive market.
