BMW releases images of China-made all-new X3 model with extended wheelbase
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BMW recently released images of the China-made all-new BMW X3 model. The new vehicle maintains consistency with its international counterpart but features an extended wheelbase. This marks the first time the BMW X3 has undergone a wheelbase extension after local production, bringing it to 2,975mm. The new X3 model is expected to make its debut at the Chengdu Motor Show 2024 on August 30.

As a new-generation model, the latest China-made BMW X3 showcases significant exterior changes, aligning closely with the overseas version. The iconic front "double kidney" grille has been further enlarged and features a split BMW ring light grille design for the first time, adorned with vertical and diagonal patterns. The front headlights have been redesigned, adding a more refined look to the front.

The new vehicle's side profile boasts an upward-sweeping waistline, complemented by pronounced wheel arches and five-spoke wheel design, creating a dynamic visual appeal.
The new made-in-China BMW X3 measures 4,865mm in length and 1,920mm in width, with a wheelbase of 2,975mm. This is 110mm longer than the overseas standard-wheelbase version, comparable to that of the standard X5. The extended wheelbase is expected to provide more spacious and comfortable seating.

At the rear, the design is clean and sharp, with new arrow-shaped taillights seamlessly integrated into the rear. The double L-shaped light strips form a powerful "X" shape, while the roof spoiler and lower diffuser enhance the sporty aesthetic.

Inside, the interior offers a refreshed experience with a dual-screen setup for the digital instrument cluster and central control screen, measuring 12.3 inches and 14.9 inches, respectively. Additionally, the new vehicle will feature a panoramic starlight sky screen, which can change colors according to different driving modes (My Modes).
Although specific powertrain details have not been disclosed, it is expected that the all-new X3 will be equipped with a 2.0T engine, similar to the current model, and will be available in two variants, 25i and 30i, differentiated by power output. The transmission system is likely to be an 8-speed automatic.
