Windrose Technology, Orange forge strategic partnership to develop 5G-enabled V2X tech for electric heavy-duty trucks
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese new energy heavy-duty truck developer Windrose Technology recently forged a strategic partnership with Orange, the third-largest telecom operator in Europe, according to a post the former issued on January 27 via its WeChat account.

The duo plans to develop 5G-based V2X (vehicle-to-everything) technology for Windrose Technology's 670 km-range electric heavy-duty trucks, which are slated for mass production in Europe in 2025. The collaboration aims to provide real-time vehicle monitoring around the clock, remote diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and remote rescue functions.
Currently, Orange is building a 5G-enabled highway in Europe connecting Metz, France, and Saarbrücken, Germany. The highway is designed to support autonomous driving and intelligent connected vehicles.
Windrose Technology's electric heavy-duty trucks are already operational across countries including China, the U.S., Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, serving several clients such as Decathlon, Remy Cointreau, and CEVA Logistics.
Orange, headquartered in France, is a multinational telecom company with 137,000 employees and 298 million customers globally.
