GAC accelerates 'Panyu Action' overhaul as HYPTEC–AION BU takes shape
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC Group has recently moved to implement its "Panyu Action" reform plan, formally launching a business unit (BU) restructuring of its self-owned brands as it seeks to strengthen long-term competitiveness through deeper resource integration and channel convergence. As the first concrete step, the HYPTEC–AION BU has been officially established, bringing the two brands under a single operational umbrella.
In parallel, preparations for a Trumpchi BU are underway, while the Qijing brand—developed in partnership with Huawei Qiankun—has already begun operating independently. Together, these initiatives signal GAC's intent to use organizational reform as a strategic lever to break through bottlenecks and pursue a higher-quality growth trajectory.

Against the backdrop of rapid industry transformation and intensifying competition, GAC sees resource sharing and coordinated development as essential to building sustainable advantages. By moving first with the HYPTEC–AION BU reform, the group aims to sharpen strategic focus, unlock synergies across brands, and improve organizational efficiency, while also accelerating technology iteration and market responsiveness. Looking ahead, HYPTEC will concentrate on the premium "elite mobility" segment, while AION will continue to position itself as a mass-market "people's car" brand, together reinforcing the competitiveness of GAC's self-owned portfolio.
Following the creation of the HYPTEC–AION BU, the two brands will move toward integrated channel operations. GAC emphasized that HYPTEC owners' existing service benefits and standards will remain unchanged, while overall service accessibility is expected to improve significantly. Channel integration will proceed in stages. By January 31, 2026, the first group of jointly operated HYPTEC–AION sales and service outlets will be announced, covering more than 30 cities nationwide and enabling single locations to handle both brands. By March 31, 2026, full channel integration is planned, resulting in a network of over 1,000 outlets with complete coverage of cities at the fourth-tier level and above.
Through the consolidation of channel resources, HYPTEC's service network is projected to expand from about 200 locations today to around 1,000, addressing long-standing convenience concerns among users. At the same time, AION customers will gain access to a broader product range, supporting their upgrade needs within the GAC ecosystem.
