The partnership allows WeRide to elevate the process of purpose-built vehicle design, R&D, and mass-production of Robotaxis. This strategic trilateral partnership among OEM manufacturers, AI technology, and mobility service platforms, the usual business model the startup adopts, will create a brand-new landscape for the commercialization of WeRide's Robotaxi.
Actually, WeRide and GAC Group have been cooperating since 2018 when they launched China's first Robotaxi service in Guangzhou. By virtue of GAC Group's vehicle R&D and fully redundant platform, WeRide's robust AD solutions, and OnTime's smart mobility platform, the trio aims to develop a fleet of driverless Robotaxis for future operation and commercialization.

Based on the GAC AION S model, the latest WeRide Robotaxi is equipped with its most up-to-date Sensor Suite 4.0. This very recent Robotaxi is now integrated into OnTime's ride-hailing platform and is being tested. WeRide, GAC Group, and OnTime will co-exhibit this Robotaxi and offer test rides to the public at the Guangzhou Auto Show, starting November 19.
By 2022, this co-developed driverless Robotaxi service will be available to the public via OnTime's platform.
