NIO’s LiDAR supplier Innovusion joins hands with autonomous driving company Mushroom

Beijing (Gasgoo)- China's LiDAR supplier Innovusion has inked a strategic cooperation agreement with autonomous driving company Mushroom for LiDAR-based autonomous driving development in the following three years.

By virtue of each other’s technology and resource advantages, the two companies will work closely on autonomous driving, V2X, and other business scenarios. The partners aim to promote the mass production and application of high-performance LiDARs and accelerate the commercialization of high-level autonomous driving.  

As one of the leading autonomous driving full-stack technology and service providers, Mushroom possesses various cutting-edge core technologies, including L4 autonomous driving technology, vehicle-road-cloud integrated system, and intelligent traffic AI cloud platform. 

In 2021, the company launched China’s first city-grade autonomous driving business project. As of now, Mushroom’s operations have expanded to multiple provinces and cities in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Hunan, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan, Zhejiang, and Guizhou.

On the other hand, Innovusion is dedicated to offering LiDAR products and intelligent perceptual software combination solutions for the industry. The company boasts its production capability, as it is the world-first high-performance LiDAR supplier that has realized mass production. Innovusion’s fully industrialized auto-grade LiDAR production line has a designed production capacity of 100,000 units yearly. 

Moreover, the company’s image-grade extra-long distance LiDAR, the Falcon, will start scale implementation on NIO’s first sedan model, the ET7, in the first quarter of 2022.
