Autonomous driving simulation company PilotD completes Pre-A financing round

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On February 25th, the Shanghai-based intelligent driving startup, PilotD Automotive, announced that the company had completed its Pre-A investment round led by GL Ventures, raising dozens of millions of yuan.

According to the startup, the funds will help the company accelerate its autonomous driving simulation technology development, expand its market share, build its own industrial, academic, and research ecosystem.

Founded in 2017, PilotD Automotive is dedicated to autonomous driving system development and validation, specializing in physical-level sensor simulation technology. The company provides software/hardware integrated validation solutions based on simulation tests for automakers and suppliers. The company develops intelligent driving-related data, software, hardware, and validation products.

PilotD Automotive’s exclusive physical-level sensor simulation technique is able to improve the simulation’s scenario realness, power dynamics, and optics, substituting for real-life tests. This technology can greatly help automakers during their intelligent connected products development process.

Moreover, PilotD has developed an autonomous driving and ADAS development validation simulation tool named GaiA, which can recreate complex roads via an integrated road network database and reenact realistic driving environments through an environment and building model library.

Currently, the company’s technology is able to create a simulated testing environment with 85% to 95% of realness. PilotD plans to introduce a new SaaS platform service to serve its clients better.
