The funds will help SiEngine step up its advanced chip R&D and commercialization. Moreover, the two parties will cooperate in the auto-grade high-computing power chip field, enhancing the competitiveness of FAW Group’s vehicle model in the intelligent cockpit and autonomous driving aspects.
SiEngine was jointly established by Geely-backed ECARX and Arm China in 2018. The company is devoted to realizing chip product localization and aims to be one of the leading chip developers worldwide.
On December 10th, 2021, SiEngine launched China’s first 7nm auto-grade chip dedicated to smart cockpits, the DragonHawk One (Longying One). The chip’s design and manufacturing process comply with advanced global standards. According to SiEngine, the chip will be put into mass production in the third quarter of 2022.
Currently, SiEngine is actively cooperating with domestic automakers and Tier1 suppliers to test out the chip’s reliability and performance on various vehicle models, ensuring a successful market launch.
The chip developer disclosed that the company is currently developing its next-generation products. The said products are scheduled to hit the market in 2024.
