China's autonomous driving startup Leadgentech.ai closes Pre-A+ round

Beijing (Gasgoo)- China’s autonomous driving startup Leadgentech.ai has closed its Pre-A+ investment round raising double-digit million yuan, led by a famous logistics group.

Despite the recent announcement, according to Leadgentech.ai, the round was actually completed in January 2022. The funds will be put into expanding its technology team and accelerating the commercialization of its autonomous driving technology in both passenger transport and freight areas. 

This marks the third financing round of Leadgentech.ai, aside from the Pre-A in September 2021 and a strategic round in April 2021. Currently, the company has kicked off its A round. 

Founded in 2016, Leadgentech.ai plans to approach commercialization through transportation services for passengers and cargo. Its applied scenarios include bus routes, shuttles, short-distance buses, closed campuses, RoboBus, and urban freight. 

The company has two types of autonomous driving buses, one without steering wheels operating on closed campuses and intelligent connected buses operating on city roads. By the end of 2022, Leadgentech.ai plans to expand its fleet of two vehicle types to 60 units. 

Outside of Ganzhou, Leadgentech.ai also plans to deploy its autonomous driving buses in Suzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, and Xi’an.
