SAIC Motor selects Cerence’s AI interactive solution for L4 Robotaxis

Beijing (Gasgoo)- SAIC Motor’s ride-hailing arm, Xiangdao Chuxing has chosen Cerence Inc.’s onboard AI platform for its L4 Robotaxi service, Cerence Inc. announced on May 17th.

The Cerence Mobility Platform will help SAIC provide a more intelligent and humanized interaction between its Robotaxis and the passengers.

The Cerence Mobility Platform is the world’s leading OS-agnostic, hybrid embedded/cloud, conversational AI platform to accelerate innovation for automakers and mobility service providers. The solution delivers a humanized, personalized experience with a multi-modal approach inclusive of voice, gesture, and gaze, allowing a seamless connection between users and the vehicle. 

In addition to the Cerence Mobility Platform, Xiangdao Chuxing will also adopt Cerence’s Speech Signal Enhancement, a suite of AI-based sound processing technologies that eliminates microphone input noises. Passengers can summon the assistant by calling out “Xiao Ke” (AI assistant), and have Xiao Ke enable passenger control over the AC, windows, and rear-row infotainment system.

Xiangdao Chuxing said that the company is dedicated to providing innovative and natural onboard experiences for its Robotaxi passengers. With the technology becoming more and more popular nationwide, Xiangdao Chuxing believes that Cerence’s dialogue-mode AI technology can create a safer, more efficient, and enjoyable journey for users.
