Xiaomi releases three automotive-use patent applications

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Xiaomi Automobile Technology Co., Ltd., one of the automaking entities of Xiaomi recently made three of its auto-related patent applications public.

Firstly, Xiaomi released an application in the autonomous driving field, involving a vehicle control method, device, medium, chip, electronics, and the car. Specifically, based on the target vehicle’s current position and routing information of the lane, the innovation can determine the corresponding one or more pending driving lanes of the target vehicle. Under the circumstance where the pending lanes include the current driving lane that the target vehicle is on, the innovation can determine a target lane for the target vehicle based on the lanes’ driving efficiency, and control the vehicle to drive on the said lane. 

The second patent application is also in the autonomous driving field, described as an image processing method, device, vehicle, and readable memory medium. By acquiring the vehicle’s real-time pose and the initial image texture from the first quantity, this method can obtain the first image texture correspondingly. The first image texture will then be converted to coordinates of the vehicle, and the method will acquire the corresponding section on the bottom of the car to get a second image texture. By rendering the second image texture, the method will gain the target image of the said car bottom section. 

The innovation is used to monitor the road condition underneath the vehicle by acquiring the image of the bottom section. It can expand the field of view and reduce blind spots, improving safety of driverless vehicles. 

Last but not least, the third patent application is about external microphone, vehicle terminal, and outdoor audio reception device.
