The partners aim to promote the development and application of advanced intelligent driving products. Their first cooperative mass-production model carrying Horizon Robotics’ Journey 5 chips can be expected in 2023.

Leveraging SAIC Motor’s Galaxy intelligent full-stack solution (including computing platform, electronic structure, software platform, smart cloud platform, and integrated digital cockpit and driving experience), Horizon Robotics and SAIC Motor will jointly produce smart driving computing platform based on Journey 5 chips, and next-generation China-made computing platform based on Journey 6 chips. Production models based on the two platforms will be successively launched in 2023 and 2025.

Specifically, the intelligent driving computing platform debuting in 2023 is developed by SAIC Motor’s automotive intelligence arm, SAIC Z-ONE. It is an integrated outcome built on two Journey 5 chips, and the automaker’s core technologies in full-stack electronic architecture, real-time software computing platform, industry-leading BEV algorithm, and closed-loop data factory. Being an essential part of SAIC Motor’s Galaxy technical foundation, the intelligent driving product works under highway, parking, and urban scenarios.
