Plus delivers 100 autonomous heavy-duty trucks to Rokin Logistics

Beijing (Gasgoo)- China’s commercial vehicle autonomous driving solution providers Plus and Zhito Technology delivered 100 autonomous FAW Jiefang J7 trucks to the local logistics firm, Rokin, on August 16th.

According to the trio, the 100 vehicles were a part of the mass order Rokin placed earlier, and was also China’s largest-ever order for factory-installed autonomous driving heavy-duty trucks . The vehicles will be put into Rokin and Plus’ designated joint intelligent heavy-duty route, providing middle-mile transportation services.

As one of China’s leading players in smart logistics, Rokin continues to invest in green logistics technology and equipment, establish an intelligent logistics system, promote green transportation development, and achieve energy conservation and emission reduction. 

In terms of business operations, Rokin actively applies intelligent heavy-duty trucks equipped with Plus’ autonomous driving system, PlusDrive, to achieve its intelligent transformation goal. The approach helps the company gradually optimize costs, improve efficiency, perfect drivers’ driving experience, reduce carbon emissions, and ensure road safety.

In fact, Rokin and Plus have been jointly operating since September 2021. The duo has opened China's first line dedicated to mass-produced intelligent heavy-duty truck operation. As of now, their mass-produced autonomous J7 super trucks have been transporting cargos on the Beijing-Shanghai and Shenyang-Haikou expressways.

The duo has achieved substantial development in vehicle fuel consumption, safety, driving comfort, driver fatigue, and other core indicators of trunkline logistics transportation. 

So far, the joint operation of autonomous heavy-duty trucks has accumulated over 90,000 kilometers of safe operating distance, with a remarkable 96.7% rate of autonomous driving usage. Moreover, the autonomous driving mode is 10% more fuel-efficient than conventional manual driving mode.
