Huawei’s Petal Mobility reportedly in talks with T3 Go for business expansion
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese ICT giant Huawei is planning business expansion for its Petal Mobility ride-hailing service platform, a local media outlet reported today, citing people with knowledge of the plan.
The report said Petal Mobility is planning to expand businesses nationwide after its entry into cities like Beijing, Shenzhen, and Nanjing, intending to contact more ride-hailing service operators. To achieve the goal, it is reportedly in talks with T3 Go, a mobility service platform jointly backed by FAW Group, Dongfeng Motor, and Changan Automobile, to offer access to the latter's entire fleet resources.

Huawei announced the launch of Petal Mobility at the end of July this year. Based on Huawei's in-house developed map engine capability, the ride-hailing platform pulls together third-party service providers, instead of operating a self-owned fleet. The model is quite like the method by which AutoNavi and Meituan made foray into the car-hailing market.
Petal Mobility has teamed up with Shouqi Limousine & Chauffeur and UCAR Shenzhou Zhuanche, but its service is currently limited to a few cities, such as Beijing, Shenzhen, and Nanjing.
T3 Go has already entered 92 cities in China with over 800,000 operating vehicles in compliance with laws and regulations, according to Cui Dayong, CEO of T3 Go.
