Pony.ai, Cao Cao Mobility, Geely Intelligent Driving Center to build Robotaxi fleet in Suzhou

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Autonomous driving tech company Pony.ai announced on September 22 the strategic cooperation with Geely’s ride-hailing platform, Cao Cao Mobility, and Geely Automobile Research Institute Intelligent Driving Center.

Per the agreement, leveraging Pony.ai’s proprietary L4 autonomous driving technology and experience accumulation in Robotaxi operations, the trio will jointly build a open operation platform for intelligent driving and conduct Robotaxi service in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. 

Earlier in August, Pony.ai has already carried out its Robotaxi service onto Cao Cao Mobility’s ride-hailing platform. The cooperation this time allows the three parties to synergize their technologies, applications, and data. 

Based on Pony.ai's leading autonomous driving software/hardware technology, Cao Cao Mobility’s ride-hailing platform, and Geely Intelligent Driving Center’s software R&D and underlying platform construction ability, the partners plan to build their own Robotaxi fleet in 2022, and facilitate the fleet operation in Suzhou. 

Since its launch in 2018, PonyPilot, Pony.ai’s autonomous driving service in China, has gradually covered the four first-tier Chinese cities, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, providing more than 1 million trips of autonomous driving service to the public.
