Changan Automobile’s board passes motion to set up intelligent driving company

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 22, China’s major automaker, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. ("Changan Automobile"), announced the completion of a board meeting, voting on matters including the establishment of an intelligent driving company, which was passed unanimously.

On September 23, Changan Automobile's patent involving a vehicle autonomous driving method and device, electronic equipment, storage media was made public on the Chinese corporate database, Tianyancha.

According to the patent abstract, the autonomous driving method works by obtaining the ambient optical flow information of the current vehicle and multiple collision determination factors, among which the collision determination factors include radar perception information, image perception information, and map location information. 

Specifically, the vehicle position information includes the data acquired in the tunnel entrance area or inside the tunnel. According to the vehicle position information, the factor weights of each collision determination factor are determined respectively, with the radar weights corresponding to the tunnel entrance area less significant than those corresponding to the inside of the tunnel. 

According to the comparison results between the driving collision probability and the preset probability threshold, the current vehicle collision avoidance status will be determined, and the vehicle is controlled based on the said status. 

The patent can more accurately calculate the driving collision probability and ensure the driving safety of vehicles in the process of automatic driving, based on its driving collision probability which calculate the significance of each radar factors.
