WeRide sets up East China headquarters in Wuxi, building full-city autonomous transportation platform

Beijing (Gasgoo)- China’s autonomous driving solution provider, WeRide, announced on September 27 via its WeChat account the plan to set up its East China regional headquarters in Wuxi Economic Development Zone in Jiangsu Province.

Along with the news for the headquarters, WeRide also inked a tripartite cooperation agreement with Wuxi Economic Development Zone Management Committee and Zhihui Transportation Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Wuxi Transportation Industry Group, to launch autonomous driving products and jointly build the first city-level autonomous driving operation platform for public transportation in China.

The East China regional headquarters of WeRide will make use of the multiple advantages of local policies and regulations, supporting facilities and talent reserve, deploying L4 autonomous driving suite production lines in the city. The company aims to achieve standardization and mass production of L4 autonomous driving products, and attract more upstream and downstream enterprises related to the field. 

At the same time, based on the tripartite cooperation, WeRide and Wuxi Zhihui Transportation Technology will strive to build a comprehensive operation platform for full-domain, all-scenario, and all-model autonomous driving service in Wuxi. In the future, the partners will massively deploy an autonomous driving fleet consists of Robotaxis, Mini Robobuses, Robovans, and Robosweepers, serving the city in smart mobility, smart public transportation, smart street-cleaning, and smart logistics.
