Baidu Apollo starts fully autonomous test in Shanghai Driverless Demo Zone
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Baidu’s autonomous driving mobility service platform, Apollo Go, kicked off driverless test in Shanghai Driverless Demo Zone on September 27.

As one of the leading cities of the automotive industry, Shanghai has the unique advantage of developing intelligent connected vehicles. By 2021, Shanghai had opened up a total of 615 testing roads spanning 1,289.83km, with 12,000 testing scenarios. The city has issued road test and demonstration application qualifications to 25 enterprises’ 295 vehicles, leading the country by example.
Currently, Baidu’s Apollo Moon ARCFOX version autonomous vehicle has started fully unmanned tests at Shanghai Auto Expo Park. In the future, Apollo Go will provide fully autonomous Robotaxi services to the public in more sections of Jiading District in Shanghai. Apollo aims to ensure the safety of the self-driving service through multiple safety mechanisms such as automotive intelligence, monitoring redundancy, parallel driving, autonomous driving operating support systems, and C-V2X.
