Baidu to help Guangxi Autonomous Region with intelligent transportation development

Beijing (Gasgoo)- China’s tech giant Baidu recently hosted its 2022 Baidu Intelligent Transportation City Summit — Guangxi, in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

During the summit,  Baidu’s navigation department, Baidu Maps, reached a strategic cooperation with Guangxi Expressway Development Center. The two parties jointly launched the “expressway lane-level accident alert” function, signifying the partners’ comprehensive and in-depth cooperation in the data sharing and distribution sector of expressway dynamic traffic incident across Guangxi.

In an effort to accelerate the construction of related ecosystem and further promote the development of intelligent transportation industry, Baidu Intelligent Transportation also inked strategic partnership agreements with seven other local Guangxi enterprises. In the future, Baidu Intelligent Transportation will continue to work with excellent partners to explore more possibilities of intelligent transportation.

According to China’s 14th Five-Year Plan and the region’s 2035 long-term goal,  over the next 15 years, the intelligent connected industry will be the main focus of China’s industrial transformation, R&D innovation, and supply reformation, and intelligent transportation will be of great potential. Baidu aims to give full play to its strengths in intelligent connectivity, smart highway, intelligent traffic control, as well as smart parking, jointly explore Guangxi’s intelligent transportation market and contribute to the local digital economy construction with the company’s partners. 

On the other hand, Guangxi also set a goal to become a country-leading region in terms of transportation in West China. By virtue of major enterprises in the digital economy field, including Baidu, the region will strengthen the synergetic innovation in intelligent connected vehicles, autonomous driving, and C-V2X technologies, focus on breakthroughs in core  technologies, actively carry out pilot demonstrations, and explore ways for industrialization and commercialization.
