Baidu receives Guangzhou, Shenzhen's first permits for high-level urban assistant driving map

Beijing (Gasgoo)- The two metropolises in Guangdong Province, namely Guangzhou and Shenzhen, issued their first urban high-level assistant driving map licenses, with Baidu among the first permittees.

At the present, the navigation on pilot function is enabled on the highways and urban expressways in some cities in China. Baidu obtaining the license of urban advanced assisted driving map means that Baidu Map will help automakers to mass produce intelligent vehicles equipped with urban navigation on pilot functions, realizing intelligent single-vehicle assisted driving that integrates parking, high-speed, and urban scenarios on urban roads.

High precision map is one of the important infrastructures to realize autonomous driving. Its high precision, richness, and high freshness is specially designed to provide services for advanced assisted driving and autonomous driving solutions. 

In August this year, the General Office of China’s Ministry of Natural Resources issued a notice on the pilot application of high-precision map for intelligent connected vehicles, which allowed demonstration application of high-precision maps in the first batch of six cities, including Guangzhou and Shenzhen. 

Up to now, Baidu has formed mass production cooperation with GAC Motor, Changan Auto, Honda, Great Wall Motor, Geely, BAIC Group, JAC Group, NIO, WM Motor, and many other automakers.
