Hesai Technology launches pure solid-state LiDAR FT120

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On Nov. 2, Hesai Technology, a world-leading LiDAR solution provider, officially launched the pure solid-state short-range blind spot LiDAR designed to the factory-installed ADAS for mass-produced vehicles, named FT120, which is expected for volume production and delivery in the second half of 2023.

As a true pure solid-state LiDAR, the FT120 sees laser emission and receiving completely made through chips, greatly trimming the component volume over that of the traditional LiDAR devices. The automotive-grade LiDAR is especially developed for large-scale volume production as there is no moving component inside, so that the product reliability, as well as production efficiency and consistency can be improved.

The FT120 features an ultra-wide FOV (H100° x 75°) capable of a maximum measuring distance of 100 meters. The zero-bling-area feature allows the LiDAR to not only perceive such objects standing higher as traffic signs, handrails, and interlayers of mechanical parking garages, but also detect children, pets, traffic cones, zebra crossings, and other objects in lower spaces.

Besides, the dot frequency of 192,000 dots per second (under the single-echo mode) and the 160 (H) x 120 (V) overall resolution provide a real-time all-around 3D perception for vehicles.

The FT120 is able to help vehicles clearly see the surrounding road conditions in such scenarios as left/right turn at an intersection, queue-jumping, and active lane changing, so as to avoid accidents.

Moreover, the company claimed the FT120 has a concise and elegant design thanks to its in-house developed pure solid-state electronic scanning technology, named E-Scanning.
