Lenovo discloses strategic deployment in automotive computing field
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Chinese computer giant Lenovo for the first time introduced its deployment and recent achievement in the automotive computing field at the company’s Lenovo Tech World 2022 event on November 9.

At the event, Lenovo Group disclosed its strategic planning of automotive computing. "Lenovo has no plan to build vehicles. What we want to do is automotive computing," Dr. Rui Yong, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Lenovo Group, stressed at the conference. "Lenovo has been actively exploring the application of scenario-driven computing in the industry, and automotive computing is one of the new computing scenarios with great potential. The mission of Lenovo automotive computing is to integrate its technology accumulation with the general needs of automobile intelligence, creating a bright future of intelligent vehicles."
Lenovo automotive computing operation is committed to building smart cockpits, autonomous driving and smart display products. The company plans to provide customers with different computing platforms based on different application scenarios, and offer operating system software, middleware, and rich application development environment based on these computing platforms.
Notably, Lenovo is currently working with Chinese auto-grade chip supplier, SemiDrive. A collaborative integrated smart cockpit solution jointly developed by Lenovo and SemiDrive using the latter’s X9 chip, is under development with an unnamed Chinese automaker.
