Quectel introduces new-generation C-V2X module ‘AG18’

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Leading IoT and V2X solutions provider Quectel officially introduced its new-generation C-V2X module, AG18, offering enhanced safety and traffic efficiency.

The AG18 adopts PC5 direct communication method, and can be used in any part of the world without relying on SIM card, cellular network assistance, or coverage. It uses the global uniform ITS 5.9GHz frequency band to provide low-latency, highly-reliable information transmission for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), and vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P) communications, to obtain the status and intentions of traffic participants in over-the-horizon or non-line-of-sight range to avoid traffic accidents.

Besides, the AG18 module features flexible positioning functions, including L1+L5 dual frequency GNSS, Qualcomm Dead Reckoning (QDR3), and high-precision PPE (RTK) technologies, allowing automakers and Tier 1 suppliers to choose the appropriate ones based on their application requirements.

By virtue of Qualcomm’s SA415M chipset, the AG18 is developed and manufactured in compliance with the IATF 16949:2016 automotive quality management system standard. It is designed to endure harsh environments and provide superior ESD/EMI protection performance.

Currently, the AG18 has entered the engineering sample stage.
