SemiDrive, BlackBerry QNX’s collaborative product deployed by SAIC Motor, Chery Auto

Beijing (Gasgoo)- China’s automotive chip supplier SemiDrive recently disclosed its entire product lineup has been adapted to BlackBerry QNX, as the first and only Chinese chip supplier to achieve such results.

SemiDrive and BlackBerry QNX kicked off their cooperation in April 2021. The two sides jointly developed the advanced digital cockpit platform based on SemiDrive's X9 smart cockpit chip, and conducted in-depth joint development for the Hypervisor and Native QNX OS, facilitating the application of the next-generation smart cockpit project.

Notably, the duo’s collaborative X9+QNX dashboard solution has been mass produced and implemented onto vehicle models under SAIC Motor and Chery Auto. During the project development, the two companies’ teams overcame various difficulties and optimized the startup process and display framework of the entire system to meet the customers' demands for quick activation and projection display functions.

According to SemiDrive, it will continue to deepen the cooperation with BlackBerry QNX on next-generation platforms, and complete the adaptation to G2D, AI, Vision DSP, and other IP, to achieve DMS, OMS, AI algorithm and other functional safety requirements. The two sides will jointly promote the development of intelligent connected vehicle solutions, providing reinforced support to auto companies and Tier1 suppliers.
