This marked another milestone after Pony.ai’s passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle became the first and only to be included in the catalogue, and obtained the demonstration operation qualification of taxi and logistics vehicle in Guangzhou on June 30 this year.
The sixth-generation autonomous driving hardware and software system was officially put into R&D and integration since May 2022. In just half a year, Pony.ai has completed the design, validation, bulk production, safe test mileage accumulation, and safety technology detection with mixed traffic.
Notably, the system is the first autonomous driving hardware and software system equipped with automotive LiDAR in the catalogue, signifying a step forward towards the mass production of autonomous driving technology.
The autonomous driving system on the GAC AION LX Plus is a new Robotaxi system built by Pony.ai and GAC Group’s mobility arm, OnTime. The Robotaxi system will be officially put into commercial operation on OnTime’s ride hailing platform soon. Moreover, the system will also be showcased at the Auto Guangzhou 2022 on December 30.
