In a bid to accelerate the R&D progress of auto-grade processors, AutoChips and Chery Auto will use the joint lab as the stepping stone to carry out cooperation in such fields as automotive chip technology, products, market development, and industrial ecosystem integration.
Founded in 2013, AutoChips is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NavInfo. It is engaged in the R&D and SoC design of automotive electronics. AutoChips holds R&D offices in Hefei, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Wuhan cities. The cumulative shipment of the company has exceeded 200 million sets. Its products have been deployed onto more than 500 vehicle models worldwide.
Leveraging AutoChips and Chery Auto’s advantages and R&D capabilities, the duo will formulate a development scheme for automotive chip and electronic architecture. In the meantime, the two companies will also make joint efforts market-wise both domestically and overseas, promoting the application of products that comply with the current transformation of intelligent and electrification across the auto industry.
Notably, the duo’s partnership started when AutoChips’ first-generation SoC was implemented onto the automaker’s mass-produced model. Up to now, AutoChips has deployed various SoC, automotive MCU, and amplifier chips unto Chery Auto’s vehicles. The company’s latest-generation smart cockpit SoC chip, the AC8015, is scheduled to be installed onto one of Chery Auto’s SUV models.
