Chinese LiDAR maker Benewake partners with Jabil for auto-grade LiDAR production, delivery
Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 9, Beijing-based LiDAR supplier Benewake announced via its WeChat account its cooperation with the American manufacturing services company Jabil for the manufacturing and delivery of Benewake’s AD2 auto-grade LiDAR.

According to the agreement, Benewake will work with Jabil to industrialize and deploy a dedicated LiDAR production line to meet the standards of the automotive industry. Leveraging Jabil’s extensive manufacturing experience, global supply chain management, and quality control advantages in the field of automotive electronics production, as well as Benewake's technical accumulation regarding LiDAR, the partners will jointly commit to the mass production and delivery of Benewake's new 512-line high-performance LiDAR, the AD2.
Launched at the end of 2022, the AD2 features a detection FOV of 120°*25.6°, a 10Hz refresh frame rate, and a resolution of up to 0.05°*0.05°. It can clearly identify the outline and shape of small targets at 200m away, and has the ability to detect the full FOV with a vertical resolution of 0.05°.
The AD2 is the first high-performance main 512-line LiDAR across the industry. It mainly targets clienteles including electric vehicle startups, traditional car manufacturers, and autonomous driving solution providers. Up to now, the LiDAR product has attracted procurement orders for several vehicle models for a total of 180,000 units. The AD2 is planned to be mass produced and delivered in 2023.
