Based on the development platform provided by Horizon Robotics’ Journey 5 chip and the WeRide One software solution, WeRide plans to build L4 autonomous driving solutions, including domain controllers, in-car operating systems, intelligent driving software, and other China-made products with global-leading performance, as well as promote the products’ commercialization and scale deployment.
With the company’s integrated software-hardware-cloud R&D capability of autonomous driving, WeRide has so far deployed L4 autonomous driving products covering Robotaxi, Robobus, Robovan, and Robosweeper sanitation vehicles. Up to now, the company has cumulated an autonomous driving distance exceeding 13 million kilometers.
Since the end of 2021, WeRide and Horizon Robotics have been cooperating in the L4 autonomous driving field, focusing on the Journey 5 chip-based central computing platform for Robotaxi and Robobus, which is now ready for commercialized applications. The duo will continue to deepen their R&D cooperation and further explore the undiscovered potential of the WeRide One platform and Horizon Robotics’ intelligent R&D platform, building all-scenario, cost-effective, and all-in-one L4 autonomous driving solutions.
