Baidu Apollo to help Fuzhou city upgrade local intelligent connected vehicle industry
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Fuzhou, the capital China’s Fujian Province, on January 19 inaugurated the Intelligent Vehicle (Southeast) Digital Economic Industrial Science and Innovation Base, which introduced Baidu Apollo as one of the first demonstration enterprises to settle in the base.

At the same time, Fuzhou released the construction and application scenario planning of building Fuzhou New Area into a digital-driven intelligent auto town.
According to the plan, in accordance to the current infrastructure construction situation, construction cycle, and other factors of Fuzhou New Area, Baidu will build an Apollo Space operation center as the project headquarters, preliminarily. The Apollo Space will hold basic functions like the display, experience, testing and validation, innovation and R&D, ecosystem cooperation, academic research, and business operation for intelligent connected autonomous driving technologies. After the completion of the automotive industrial park, Apollo will be well positioned to promote the development of the autonomous driving and intelligent vehicle industry in the region.
From March 2023 to the year 2025, Fuzhou New Area will gradually realize all-domain, all-scenario, commercialize driverless operation within its 188 square kilometers of coverage. In the future, Fuzhou New Area will implement intelligent connected vehicle operation on open roads such as urban roads and expressways, as well as closed areas such as parks, scenic spots, airports, and ports.
