NavInfo to provide BMW with autonomous driving map service in China

Beijing (Gasgoo)- China’s navigation service provider NavInfo announced on February 13 it inked the agreement with BMW China to offer the latter autonomous driving related map services.

According to the agreement, NavInfo will provide products and services such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) maps, HD (High Definition) maps, and LBS (Location Based Services) for BMW Group's next-generation autonomous driving functions in the Chinese market.

The exact number of sales and amount will depend on the sales volume of BMW-branded vehicles that are equipped with the aforesaid autonomous driving functions in the country, as regulated by the BMW Group. This agreement is effective from the date of signing and will be valid until December 31, 2033.

The signing of the agreement on next-generation autonomous driving map and LBS with BMW is deemed as recognition of NavInfo's self-driving map product, said NavInfo. It marked another important achievement of the company in the global high-end automobile market, which can drive more projects to commercialization and application. The recognition from major automakers like BMW will further enhance NavInfo's market competitiveness, which is conducive to the continuous improvement of the company's profitability and operating performance.
