Leapmotor, Great Wall Motor to integrate Baidu’s ERNIE Bot on cars

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On February 17, Chinese new energy vehicle startup Leapmotor announced that it has officially became one of the earliest adopters of Baidu’s ChatGPT-like AI interactive model, ERNIE Bot.

ERNIE Bot is a generative dialogue product launched by Baidu based on the ERNIE big model technology. The industrial-grade knowledge-enhanced ERNIE big model holds cross-modal and cross-language deep semantic understanding and generation capabilities. According to information from Baidu, the ERNIE Bot will be launched in March 2023.

Since establishment, Leapmotor has set its focus on developing and producing its own technologies. So far, the startup achieved independent research, design, and production of core systems and electronic components for intelligent electric vehicles, and have developed intelligent power systems, intelligent driving systems, and smart cabin systems.

Leapmotor said that it will continue to prioritize user value and use technological innovation to maximize the car-using experience throughout the vehicle’s entire lifecycle. With its commitment to providing products and services that exceed user expectations, Leapmotor hopes that the integration of ERNIE Bot onto its cars will help provide users with a more intelligent and more nuanced onboard interactive experience.

On the same day, Baidu’s intelligent driving arm Apollo announced that the other Chinese major automaker, Great Wall Motor, was also among the list of the first adopters of the ERNIE Bot. Aside from the aforementioned two automakers, Dongfeng Motor’s premium new energy vehicle brand VOYAH and JIDU, the automaker backed by Baidu and Geely, are all established users of the ERNIE Bot technology.
