Great Wall Motor-backed Haomo.ai builds autonomous driving cognitive big model DriveGPT

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On February 17, Great Wall Motor-backed autonomous driving solution provider Haomo.ai announced that its autonomous driving cognitive big model was officially upgraded and named as “DriveGPT”.

With the explosive popularity of ChatGPT across the internet, the large-scale Transformer model and Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF) technology it employs have once again caught the attention of the industry. In the field of autonomous driving, Haomo.ai was one of the first companies in China to introduce the Transformer model into its data intelligence system, MANA.

At the HAOMO AI DAY in January 2023, the company’s CEO, Gu Weihao, introduced the Haomo.ai’s latest cognitive large-scale model for autonomous driving, which has already drawn inspiration from ChatGPT's implementation approach and utilizes the RLHF technology. By introducing real human's driving data, the autonomous driving cognitive decision-making model is continuously optimized. Through this large-scale model, the success rate of the autonomous driving solution behaving under complex scenarios, such as U-turns and roundabouts, has increased by more than 30%.

Currently, Haomo.ai's DriveGPT has completed model construction and the first phase of data processing, with parameter size on par with GPT-2. Next, the company will continue to introduce large-scale real driving data to DriveGPT and improve evaluation results through human driving data feedback and reinforcement learning. DriveGPT will also be used as a cloud-based evaluation model to assess the driving performance of small models on vehicles.

According to the company, it plans to demonstrate the latest achievements of DriveGPT at the 8th HAOMO AI DAY in April 2023.
