The TDC, which is expected for mass production and delivery by the end of 2023, is TuSimple's self-developed, auto-grade autonomous driving computing platform that integrates sensor inputs, high-performance computing, vehicle control unit (VCU), and autonomous driving application software, meeting autonomous driving computing requirements from L2+ to L4.

TuSimple has continuously invested over two years in developing the TDC since January 2022. After multiple rounds of software and hardware system iterations and actual road testing, the B-sample product has been delivered to clients for testing and validation, while the C-sample is expected to be shipped in the second quarter of 2023. The mass-produced version of the TDC will be produced in collaboration with well-known international contract manufacturers, and is expected to be delivered to the Chinese market by the end of 2023, with plans to gradually enter European and American markets in the future.

According to TuSimple, the TDC can seamlessly cooperate with different sensor configurations and TuSimple's autonomous driving application software to achieve a series of advanced autonomous driving solutions, including commercial vehicle-spec L2+ and conditional L3 ADAS solutions, and an L4 autonomous driving system that provides computing power for main control and redundant computing units.

Unlike most NVIDIA module-based development methods on the market, TuSimple’s TDC is built on NVIDIA's Orin system-level SoC chip for customized development, which provides more granular scenario technology customization capabilities while reducing the costs by about 25% than average.

For example, the TDC supports both air cooling and water cooling methods, and provides both 12V and 24V power supply, giving customers more flexibility in choosing different combinations of solutions. Notably, the TDC 24V power supply scheme can meet the power supply requirements of Chinese heavy-duty trucks and is also an unique design exclusive to TuSimple.
