Baidu-backed DeepWay partners with Innovusion

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On the first day of the Auto Shanghai 2023, Chinese LiDAR maker Innovusion inked a strategic cooperation agreement with Baidu-backed autonomous truck developer, DeepWay.

Per the agreement, the two companies will give full play to their respective technological advantages and resources, accelerating the scale deployment of high-performance LiDAR on new energy intelligent commercial trucks. The duo aims to jointly promote the large-scale application of autonomous driving technologies under trunkline logistics scenarios.  

Leveraging Baidu’s leading technologies in the autonomous driving field, and Shiqiao’s favorable experience as China’s largest order and operation management platform for trunkline logistics, DeepWay is dedicated to the R&D and manufacturing of smart new energy trucks. 

The company’s first product, Shenxiang Xingchen, adopts an innovative design with distributed drive, ultra-low wind resistance streamlined body, battery-chassis integration, and hydrogen-electric modular design. 

In addition, in terms of software design, the vehicle is equipped with the HIS system (Highway Intelligence System), which not only supports L3 assistant driving functions, but also has enough computing power to support L4 highly autonomous driving capabilities. The HIS system has eleven cameras, one infrared cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, and one LiDAR, enabling blind spot-free and long-range sensing capability for the entire vehicle.
