Beijing (Gasgoo)- Baolong Automotive, the Chinese auto parts supplier, announced on May 17 that its joint venture company, Baohang Technology, has successfully entered the production phase after over a year of development since securing the contract for VinFast's corner radar project in Vietnam in 2022.

The project with VinFast involves the development of corner radars for VinFast's VF series vehicles, with a total demand of 200,000 units throughout its lifecycle. The radar has recently obtained the ASEAN NCAP five-star certification.
Baohang Technology is a joint venture established in 2021 between Baolong Automotive and radar maker Chuhang Technology, with the former holding a 60% stake and the latter holding 40%. The joint venture combines the strengths of both companies to research, develop, and produce commercial and passenger vehicle ADAS-used 77GHz millimeter-wave radars.
The newly developed corner radar features high integration, enabling multiple functions within a single radar unit, including blind spot detection (BSD), lane change assistance (LCA), rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA), and door opening warning (DOW). With a single-chip solution, it offers automatic calibration, adaptive installation for left and right radars, and cost-effective design, while also boasting compact size, lightweight, and low power consumption.
