UTOPILOT, TuSimple, SAIC AI Lab, Pegasus granted first batch driverless road test licenses in Shanghai
Beijing (Gasgoo)- On June 8, four Chinese autonomous driving companies, namely, UTOPILOT, TuSimple, SAIC AI Lab, and Pegasus, were awarded China's first batch of national autonomous driving test licenses for 15 vehicles in Shanghai’s Lin-Gang Special Area.

The issuance of these licenses signifies the official entry of domestic autonomous driving commercialization into the "driverless" phase. The aforementioned four companies are actively establishing their presence in the Level 4 autonomous driving field.
UTOPILOT, is a technology innovation company under SAIC Motor, focuses on the commercial application of autonomous driving. With over a decade of technical accumulation by SAIC Motor, more than three years of commercial operation experience, and the establishment of an industrial chain advantage, UTOPILOT focuses on specific scenarios such as ports, mining areas, industrial parks, and highways, providing intelligent driving solutions.

TuSimple went public on Nasdaq in the United States in 2021. Recently, the company announced its entry into the Japanese market, commencing autonomous driving tests on the Tomei Expressway in Japan.
Pegasus is a domestic company specializing in L4 autonomous driving technology innovation in urban scenarios, offering full-stack solutions ranging from L4 to L5 capabilities.
