WeRide achieved significant milestones in its expansion into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with its advanced autonomous driving technology. In December 2022, WeRide became the first company permitted to conduct passenger-carrying demonstration operations in Shenzhen using its mass-produced Robobus.

As WeRide's first product to be implemented in Shenzhen, the Robobus is the world's first mass-produced L4 autonomous driving minibus designed specifically for urban open roads. It primarily focuses on microcirculation public transportation in cities, with a maximum speed of up to 40km/h. The WeRide Robobus features a driverless cabin design and is equipped with WeRide's self-developed full-stack software and hardware solution. It incorporates multiple cutting-edge sensors, including 64-line LiDAR, high-definition cameras, blind-spot LiDAR, and millimeter-wave radar.

According to the plan, WeRide will deploy its Robotaxi and Robosweeper in the Xili Lake International Science and Education City in the Nanshan District. In April 2022, WeRide introduced China's first mass-produced autonomous driving street sweeping vehicle, specifically designed for municipal road cleaning operations. It pioneered the concept of a driverless cabin and can perform various urban sanitation tasks, such as road sweeping, dust suppression, and disinfection, in unmanned driving mode.
