Foton Motor, Mogo Auto join hands to deploy autonomous smart city solutions

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Foton Motor, the commercial vehicle arm of BAIC Group, and autonomous driving solution provider Mogo Auto, signed a strategic cooperation agreement on July 17 to promote the large-scale development of autonomous driving solutions.

The two companies aim to leverage their respective strengths to boost the application of autonomous driving technologies in areas such as intelligent sanitation, smart transportation, and smart cities. Specifically, the partners will focus on integrating municipal infrastructure with urban terminal service operations, creating smart city operation solutions, and jointly promoting project implementation to enhance operational efficiency and optimize public services in cities.

As a leading professional sanitation vehicle brand under Foton Motor, Foton BROCK holds a prominent position in the Chinese market and commands an 18% market share in the high-end market segment in Europe. 

Under the agreement, BROCK will collaborate with Mogo Auto to upgrade the cooperation on autonomous driving retrofitting for vehicles, and jointly develop and operate various next-generation autonomous driving sanitation vehicle models. Mogo Auto's integrated "vehicle-to-cloud" autonomous driving full-stack technology will effectively support Foton Motor's related products.

Previously, Foton Motor and Mogo Auto successfully deployed an autonomous large-sized sweeper vehicle (MOGO C1) in Yantai, Shandong Province. Mogo Auto's "vehicle-to-cloud" autonomous driving project has also been implemented in Beijing, Hunan, Yunnan, Sichuan, Hubei, Shandong, Shaanxi, and other regions.
