Chinese automotive chip supplier SemiDrive partners with Samsung Semiconductor

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On August 2, Chinese automotive chip maker, SemiDrive, announced its long-term strategic collaboration with Samsung Semiconductor. The partnership mainly targets the advancement of automotive semiconductor projects.

The duo aims to strengthen their cooperation in the field of automotive chips, with a focus on advancing system integration and compatibility for automotive semiconductor projects.

As part of this collaboration, SemiDrive will integrate Samsung Semiconductor's high-performance storage chips into its reference designs for all-scenario automotive chips. This joint effort will drive technological innovation and breakthroughs in the automotive domain, particularly in the areas of intelligent cabins, autonomous driving, central gateways, and high-performance MCUs.

SemiDrive's automotive chip products and solutions have already achieved large-scale production and are serving over 260 customers, including several international mainstream car companies and more than 90% of the mainstream Chinese automakers such as SAIC Motor, Chery Auto, Changan Automobile, Dongfeng Motor, FAW Group, Nissan Motor, Honda Motor, Volkswagen, and Li Auto.

On the other hand, Samsung Semiconductor's in-vehicle memory business has been experiencing sustained growth and is dedicated to enhancing the travel experience for drivers and passengers alike through cutting-edge technologies such as In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI), Telematics Control Units (TCU), and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Under the terms of the long-term strategic cooperation agreement, Samsung Semiconductor will provide a full set of storage chip samples and technical support to SemiDrive for its chip reference design development and testing, leveraging Samsung's technological advantages.

Both companies will also collaborate on product roadmaps and business strategies, ensuring that they continue to provide outstanding automotive semiconductor solutions to customers.
