NationalChip partners with Kunlunxin for AI-powered intelligent driving solutions

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Chinese IC firm NationalChip and Baidu-backed chip developer Kunlunxin have recently inked a strategic cooperation framework agreement, signaling a significant partnership aimed at advancing AI computing solutions for smart driving scenarios.

The collaboration will primarily focus on edge AI computing and automotive functional safety SoCs (System-on-Chips), pooling their resources to mutually enhance technological competitiveness and explore new opportunities in the expansive smart driving market.

Leveraging Kunlunxin's leading expertise in AI technology and NationalChip's accumulated knowledge in edge computing and automotive functional safety SoCs, the two companies plan to engage in extensive technical communication and exchange. They will collaborate to develop cooperative models and technical divisions tailored to edge AI scenarios. Together, they aspire to create end-to-end AI computing solutions for edge scenarios such as intelligent manufacturing, smart highways, and smart cities, forging a stable, long-term partnership.

NationalChip has strategically positioned itself in the automotive electronic chip sector over the years, establishing a pioneering advantage in both technology and product development. The company has expanded its portfolio to include 12 automotive electronic chip product lines, with chips being widely applied in over 20 car models from such automakers as BYD, Chery, Geely, SAIC Motor, Changan, Great Wall Motor, FAW Group, Dongfeng Motor, and XPeng.

This strategic partnership between NationalChip and Kunlunxin aims to facilitate market implementation and unearth potential opportunities for AI applications in edge scenarios, such as edge AI computing and L2+ intelligent driving, particularly within the automotive industry. It will accelerate both companies' business expansion in the AI domain, thereby expediting the deployment of AI chips in areas like autonomous driving.
