WeRide showcases L4 autonomous Robobus service at FII 2023 in Saudi Aribia

Beijing (Gasgoo)- During October 24-26, 2023, at the 7th Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, WeRide, the Chinese autonomous driving tech firm, was invited to attend and showcased its L4 autonomous driving shuttle (Robobus), and offered VIP test rides.

As the exclusive live demonstration of autonomous driving at the FII, the WeRide Robobus provided a 3-day VIP test ride service at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center, hosting over a hundred important delegates.

WeRide's Robobus is the world's first mass-produced autonomous shuttle with a cabin-free design. It boasts a 360-degree perception capability, detecting obstacles within 200 meters, and can travel at a top speed of 40 km/h. It is suitable for micro-transit shuttle services on public roads, operating around the clock and in all weather conditions.

Currently, WeRide's shuttle has been deployed for testing and services in 19 cities worldwide, including Guangzhou, Beijing, Wuxi in China, and Abu Dhabi in the Middle East. It is set to enter a trial operation phase in Singapore soon.

On July 3, WeRide was granted with the UAE's first national-level autonomous driving license. This marked the world's first nationwide autonomous driving license. WeRide's Robotaxi autonomous taxi service had been operational in the UAE for nearly two years, serving nearly 20,000 customer orders. These achievements provide a strong foundation for WeRide's expansion in the Middle East.
