SENIOR granted commercial vehicle autonomous driving road test license in Tianjin

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Tianjin's high-level autonomous driving demonstration area recently issued a new batch of road-testing licenses for intelligent connected vehicles, which granted autonomous driving solution developer SENIOR the approval for public road testing in the Tianjin region.

In order to get the license, SENIOR successfully cleared various autonomous driving function tests, including traffic signal recognition and response, pedestrian and non-motor vehicle recognition and avoidance, adaptive cruise control, roadside emergency parking, and automatic emergency braking. 

Concurrently, Tianjin held a event encompassing the open roads for intelligent connected vehicle testing and demonstration application scenarios in four areas, namely Xiqing District, Hebei District, Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, and the Dongjiang Free Trade Zone. During this event, Dongjiang Free Trade Zone, as one of the first areas in Tianjin to fully open its roads for testing, witnessed the inaugural test of SENIOR's intelligent trucks on their intelligent connected testing roads.

In the first half of this year, SENIOR established its presence in Tianjin's Dongjiang Free Trade Zone. Following rigorous evaluations and assessments by relevant Tianjin authorities regarding SENIOR's autonomous driving system capabilities, the company successfully obtained the road-testing license for commercial autonomous vehicles in Tianjin.

This milestone, obtaining the Tianjin road-testing license for intelligent connected commercial vehicles, gives SENIOR more favorable testing conditions and a broader range of operational scenarios. It signifies SENIOR's testing transition from closed roads to semi-open roads, further advancing the commercial application of autonomous heavy-duty logistics technology in semi-closed environments.
