Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In February 2024, Hesai Technology, the global leader in LiDAR technology, and Great Wall Motor held a strategic cooperation meeting in Baoding city, according to a post on Hesai Technology's WeChat account. Going forward, the two parties will delve into a more comprehensive collaboration in the field of intelligent driving.

Built on the consensus reached, the two entities are set to elevate their partnership through the mass production of high-performance LiDAR. Technical cooperation enhancements will be implemented on the basis of the existing project with Hesai's AT128 LiDAR, with several new passenger car models under Great Wall Motor's umbrella expected to feature multiple Hesai Technology's ADAS LiDARs, slated for release within this year.

Transitioning to the next level, both parties plan to collaborate on the cutting-edge technology of ultra-high-performance LiDAR, based on Hesai's latest platform, delving into the forefront of intelligent driving exploration.

Great Wall Motor sees the core of success in the latter half of the intelligent new energy vehicle competition lying in constructing a comprehensive technology and operation system and ecosystem. As early as 2020, the company initiated a full-scale deployment of the Forest Ecosystem, aiming to establish an ecosystem that integrates integrated R&D, production, and sales. Focusing on product category innovation and technological advancements, this systematic approach has fortified their competitive strength. The Forest Ecosystem also integrates both internal and external industry chains, with intelligent driving standing out as a critical component. Presently, Great Wall Motor possesses the City NOH intelligent assisted driving system characterized by "heavy perception, substantial computing power, and light mapping." The perception layer incorporates LiDAR technology, ensuring urban intelligent driving is safer, more stable, and reliable, powered by the high-computing platform IDC3.0.

As the frontrunner in LiDAR perception technology, Hesai Technology continually innovates its products and expands its market presence. Its AT128 ultra-high-definition long-range LiDAR offers precise detection within a 200-meter range, exceptional detail perception, and industry-leading image resolution. Already designated for production in over 50 vehicle models, it has gained widespread recognition from renowned automotive manufacturers. By the end of 2023, Hesai Technology's cumulative LiDAR deliveries had exceeded 300,000 units.

Hesai Technology said its LiDAR products are poised to provide robust perceptual input for Great Wall Motor's intelligent driving system.
