This innovative feature will be available across all cities and routes where navigation is supported, said XPENG.
Furthermore, XPENG announced that in addition to pushing the Infinite XNGP feature to experienced users who are familiar with the boundaries of intelligent driving system, it is continually expanding the availability of the XNGP function on fully open routes and cities that have undergone official safety testing at least four times.
According to XPENG, the XNGP system covers a wide range of complex scenarios and cross-scenario travel in core cities, particularly focusing on main routes with high demand from local XPENG vehicle owners. In prefecture-level cities or counties, XPENG prioritizes opening up core routes commonly used by users to ensure a relatively continuous and comprehensive XNGP user experience.
Moreover, in areas without HD map coverage, XPENG's XNGP system utilizes a combination of "navigation maps + XNet perception capabilities + driving strategies" to deliver performance comparable to that in areas covered by HD maps.
At a recent intelligent driving-related event held by XPENG, the company set ambitious goals for 2024 and 2025, aiming to achieve full coverage of XNGP in major cities nationwide and commence R&D of globally-oriented highway NGP (Navigation Guided Pilot) and XNGP, respectively.
